Jo Mackie

Jo joined Butler Refrigeration a couple of weeks after Colin bought the business in June 2018. For 20 years Jo co-ran a large family business within NZ Thoroughbred Industry which involved employee numbers of up to thirty at any one time, as well as liaising with hundreds of clients each year. With a history and passion for marketing, this industry took her all over the world sourcing stallions and attending sales in a marketing capacity.

As Operations Manager for Smart Climate Solutions, Jo finds it easy with the stunning team she works with. An exciting and dynamic business with everyone boasting a huge work ethic and incredible culture, it has proved to be a thrilling career change into an industry she is very excited to be part of.

With a mad passion for sport, Jo had a fabulous career eventing (horse riding) and represented NZ. She took up rowing a few years ago and now rows daily on Lake Karapiro heading out of the boat shed at 5.15am every morning, consequently competing in every regatta she can.

NB; Good luck dealing with Jo if she hasn’t made it onto the water because of weather conditions and definitely don’t ask her to make your coffee!
